Watts provided MEP engineering and design services for renovation work to an existing elementary school facility and new building addition. Watts conducted a code review and facility survey to document existing building conditions and prepared a schematic design report describing the proposed equipment upgrades and requirements for new equipment to support the building expansion. Construction documents were prepared and bid. Watts also provided construction support services, including submittal reviews, response to requests for information and project closeout. Three existing boilers were replaced with two, new Cleaver-Brooks dual fuel, Flex-tube® boilers rated at 143 BHP and 82% efficiency. Also replaced was the vacuum pump system and boiler feed water system. A new indirect fired AHU provides make-up combustion air to the boiler room. A structural steel platform was provided to access valves at the top of the boilers and to meet boiler code. The existing 8000 gallon, underground fuel oil tank was also replaced with double wall UST and controls. Electrical systems were provided to support the new construction and renovations to meet the program needs.
