The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) retained Watts to design and administer the construction contract to renovate utilities and the Academic Quadrangle (Quad) and Bulger Plaza at Buffalo State College (BSC). The Quad is located at the heart of the BSC Campus bounded by the Student Union, Butler Library, Cleveland Hall, and Bulger Hall. From the beginning, the Campus challenged Watts to soften the Quad and create a greener more inviting environment. Utility replacements include communication ducts, exterior lights, power ducts, sanitary sewers, storm drainage collection & treatment, waterlines, and irrigation lines. Surface renovations include concrete planters, an exterior dining area, exposed aggregate concrete pavement, interlocking pavers, and bands of broom finished concrete. Watts prepared construction documents and the project is presently being constructed with a completion date of November 2010.
