Watts was responsible for the final plans, specifications, and cost estimates for the replacement of 16 box culverts at various locations in NYSDOT Region 4 let under two contracts. During preliminary design, the preferred replacement methods were developed with the client for each site. The selected methods included slip-lining and conventional replacement. Other unique elements included an energy dissipater, special inlet structures, sheet piling, utility relocations, a soldier pile wall and site-specific traffic control schemes.
